5 Ingredient Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
We were invited last minute to a friend’s house for dinner and I didn’t want to show up empty handed so I literally threw these peanut butter cookies together in under 5 minutes.
These are practically like drinking a protein shake since they contain peanut butter but don’t have any flour or butter in them. Gluten-free!
I’m big on texture…these were perfectly chewy and melted in my mouth. I love quick treats like this that you can throw together especially during the summer when we always seem to have spontaneous BBQs and my kitchen isn’t always stocked. Enjoy your “protein shakes”.

5 Ingredient Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix all ingredients except chocolate chips. When blended, mix in the chocolate chips. Using your fingers, form 1 1/2 inch balls (dough will be very wet and sticky) and place onto an un-greased parchment lined cookie sheet. You don't want to make them too big because they do spread. Bake for 7-9 minutes. Let the cookies sit on the cookies sheet for about 30 seconds to 1 minute before letting cool on a wire rack. Don't let them cool on the sheet or they will overbake. The key to these is to not cook them too long! Makes around a dozen small cookies.
Can you freeze these? And if you make them into bars in an 8×8 pan how long would you cook them for? Love the way you post your recipes!
Yes you can freeze and baking time would be about 15 minutes
Love love love this recipe, its so easy to turn into cookie bar. Just put in a 8×8 pan and now you have blondes!
Exactly!
I’m doing this for a school baking assignment is this a good recipe to do let me know
Yes! This is a great recipe. Good luck.
The best peanut butter cookies I’ve ever eaten only has three ingredients…. 1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup sugar, and 1 egg. Then if you want, dunk’em in melted chocolate so they’re Buckeye cookies!
Yes those are good!
They didn’t work the first time but the second time they worked and tasted so freakin good
Awesome!
Oh man, these are great! They’re rich, without being really dense like some gluten-free peanut butter recipes I’ve tried, so one **seems** satisfying… until you’ve finish it and suddenly need another.
Ha. Im glad you agree!
How do I join your blog?

These are great! And Super simple to make.thanks for sharing
You’re welcome.
There are going on my next baking list! I love melt in your mouth peanut butter cookies!
Nice bake man
just made these, didn’t have a lot of chocolate morsels left so i used a handful of m&ms too. they made about 20, i just oiled my hands before rolling/laying on cookie sheet. maybe i didn’t cook enough, because they are real crumbly but they are so rich and delish – thanks for this quick sweet fix!!
I don’t eat dairy, and have found it difficult to make cookies that aren’t too cakey…oil based butter replacements just don’t do the trick. So, when I saw this recipe on Pinterest, I was intrigued. THEY ARE SO GOOD. I honestly think they’re better than any buttery, floury cookie I’ve had. Even my dairy-eating family loved them. I WILL be making these again. Thanks!
Shauna,
So good to hear!!
I made these today and they were delicious! I got immediate approval from my two daughters! Thank you
Hi there,
I would like to know one thing, are these gluten-free cookies?!
I found your blog in a search at pinterest on some gluten-free recipes.
Regards,
Claudia A.
No flour means gluten free right? So yes.
Holy yumminess…
I am thinking…..and I didn’t read all the previous posts….that if you wanted to cut down on calories you could use trader joes better than peanut butter which has less fat and calories!
chocolate and peanut butter, just the perfect combination for a perfect cookie, love your recipe.

I made these today and they are DELICIOUS! Thanks for the great recipe!
I just stumbled across this recipe and decided to make them tonight. Super easy… I made some modifications though… I doubled the recipe, used chunky peanut butter and semi-sweet choc. chips (3/4c for the doubled recipe)since milk choc is so sweet. They turned out delicious! Definitely will add this recipe to my recipe box and put it in my cookie rotation!
@Mo Betta,
I don’t think that Almond Butter would work. I think peanut butter gives it that texture that’s the bomb. I think Almond Butter would melt too much.
yummo- these look great- a must try. ps tried those smore bars-they were fantastic and EASY! ty

Oooh! I’m so excited! I love peanut butter cookies and my sister-in-law is allergic to wheat, soy, and dairy. With the right kind of chocolate chips, even she can eat these. And since my hero is whoever originally put peanut butter and chocolate together, I’m sure to be a big fan! Might even have to make them tomorrow. 🙂

Those cookies look amazing! It is hard to believe that they only have 5 ingreds.
First of all, I love a quick cookie with a few ingrediants – seems like such simple wholesomeness (though not in a ‘healthy’ way;) These look marvelous!
And I offically love the name of your blog. When I first read it (after coming over from Food Gawker) I thought “Dang, I wish I had thought of that!” That would also describe me perfectly!
It’s peanut butter and jelly time!!
Except toss the jelly and hold chocolate!
Not many people can resist and peanut butter and chocolate cookie.
Those cookies look wonderful!
What a great giveaway!!

Made these tonight. Couldn’t be easier. They are very sweet but yummy. Perfect with a cold glass of milk.
I love peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, thanks for such a simple recipe!
I’d love to win your giveaway and buy myself a food processor. I’m currently doing it’s job by hand and I’m just not cutting it. I used my mother-in-laws food processor last week to turn cookies in to crumbs for a cheesecake bottom and what had taken me two hours to do by hand the week before was done in about 5 minutes!
Looks like the perfect cookie to me! Love the blog!
This looks another one of your fabulous recipes, off to make them right now!
I love your blog Christy. Found it last month while on vacation. This cookie recipe is great to have on hand. Excited to try them…
It’s probably a good thing I don’t have any chocolate chips in my pantry right now…’cause if I made these, I would most likely eat them all by myself!
~deanna

Thanks for all of your awesome recipes! Our favs are your taquitos and the bar sugar cookies. You have such good, yummy ideas!
They look awsome! Do you think they’ll work with more chocolate in them? I have a habit of adding more chocolate than is called for in every cookie recipe. I’ll try and then let you know.
looks tasty
I love chocolate and PB, these look great!
