PATRIOTIC STRAWBERRIES
Happy Fourth of July! Enjoy this day to celebrate our beautiful country! Here’s a last second treat to take to your barbecues and get togethers. Strawberries dipped in white chocolate and then in blue sanding sugar are simple…easy…and delicious.
HOW TO MAKE THESE
-
Wash and dry strawberries. In a small microwave safe bowl microwave almond bark in 30 intervals in the microwave until melted. Stir until smooth.
-
Dip one strawberry at a time in the almond bark shaking off excess chocolate. Dip in the sanding sugar then place on wax or parchment paper to dry. Repeat with remaining strawberries and refrigerate until serving. Makes around 16 dipped strawberries.
ALMOND BARK
Almond bark or vanilla candy coating (like Candiquik) is my preferred dipping ingredient. It’s silky and pure white. Easy for dipping.
OTHER RED, WHITE, AND BLUE FOOD:
- Flag Cupcakes
- Watermelon Blueberry Feta Salad
- Lemon Blueberry Trifle
- Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries
- No-Churn Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

@Lindsey Ramage,
I found the blue sugar at Michael’s but you could definitely make your own by putting some blue dye in a baggy with some sugar and rolling it around. You might have some clumps but just remove them and then you have blue sugar!
Target carries the blue sugar sprinkles, as well as white chocolate baking squares. I am making them for Memorial Day BBQ this weekend!

I support you!
Love the post! Simple, but fun! SO glad we are in Utah and get to celebrate pioneer day, will be making these. Can you dye sugar easily? Or where should I buy it?
thanks for the great idea, i give you full credit for peanut butter and jelly too!
@Anonymous,
Who do you think I’m stealing the recipe from? I would like to know who I’m supposedly taking the idea from.
@Anonymous,
I don’t need negative comments on my blog. It’s easy to be mean when you comment as anonymous. I don’t think this is an idea that anyone really invented. I had these as a kid. It’s like giving a recipe for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I just gave the amounts that I used and therefore put my name on my version of this last minute recipe.
I’m all about giving credit where it is due and give credit in all of my recipes. Please email me at [email protected] if you want to continue this conversation.
Why did you delete the comment that said you took credit for a recipe/idea that was not your own?
In France,our national day is July the 14th and we have same colors so I keep your idea,thanks!
What a simple, yet beautiful idea to celebrate the 4th!
