NORTH POLE CUPCAKES
The plus about having a baby right before Christmas is that it left a self-procrastinator like myself no other option but to get everything ready for Christmas beforehand. So now I’m able to relax and worry just about taking care of my baby.
Don’t get the wrong picture; I’m definitely not sitting on the couch eating bon bons. I feel like I’m wondering around like a zombie with no sleep and showering is definitely optional these days, but at least the frantic shopping days are behind me.
I fell in love with these cupcakes when I spotted them on Pinterest. Although, there aren’t any real instructions, they were inspired from Jenny’s Cookies and are fairly self-explanatory. I made these with my son and his preschool friends. They are simple and magical!

North Pole Cupcakes
Ingredients
- 1 16.25 ounce Betty Crocker SuperMoist™ white cake mix (and ingredients called for on the package)
- 1 12 ounce container Betty Crocker™ Whipped vanilla frosting
- 18 candy canes
- 18 red m&ms
- White sprinkles or sanding sugar
- North Pole signs made from cardstock
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a cupcake pan with paper liners. Prepare cupcakes according to package directions. Let cupcakes cool.
- Frost cupcakes. Sprinkle cupcakes with white sprinkles or sanding sugar.
- Break the curved part of each candy cane so that you are left with the straight part of the candy cane as your pole (around 4 inches). Insert candy cane into the center of each frosted cupcake and tilt at a slight angle.
- Place the red candy on top of the candy cane using a dab of frosting as your glue to secure it to the top.
- Secure the North Pole sign using a dab of frosting.
I’m making these with my granddaughter… I think I’ll crush up the curved part of the candy cane and either use it for sprinkles or put it in my icing!!
Smart!
I tried to make these. We made them into mini cupcakes and just had the candy canes, not the sign. Obviously we let them cool completely before frosting them. We let them sit over night. The next day. The candy canes were melting and turned frosting pinkish and the m&m’s were falling off. We don’t have our house that hot. What happened?
The candy canes with any moisture close will start to bleed. I’m sorry!
So whats the part talking about she eats everything??????
??
As a food photographer, Ithink this one deserves applause:)
