Heavenly Green Beans
Heavenly Green Beans are fresh green beans covered in an Asian inspired sauce. It’s not often that people go back for seconds when it comes to vegetable sides but these Heavenly Green Beans might just have you doing just that.

HEAVENLY GREEN BEANS
Tomorrow my youngest child is going to preschool! Woo-hoo! Granted she’s only going twice a week for 2 1/2 hours and it takes 20 minutes to get there each way, but I’ll take the 1 hour and 50 minutes of freedom.
You’re not going to believe this, but I haven’t been alone in my house for 11 years. Like not even for an hour. Ever. Sure, I’ve gotten a sitter so that I could run errands or get my hair done, but to actually be in my house alone to do whatever…never! Can you tell I’m just a little bit excited?
So how am I going to spend my 1 hour and 50 minutes? So hard. I’m torn. Torn between cooking a bunch of recipes, running a couple of miles,…or just sitting on the couch watching Real Housewives of anything. In reality option one or two will probably happen but just knowing I have the option…so liberating.
With my love for food we always have cupcakes, cookies, and other miscellaneous treats on the counter for sampling. With all of those options it’s hard to believe that these Heavenly Green Beans are what I found my husband hoarding in the corner.
They’re really that good. The sauce has so much flavor that you could really put it on any vegetable. Broccoli, asparagus…honestly you could even put it on chicken. Please try it! You’ll love it.

Heavenly Green Beans
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans, , trimmed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup finely minced onion
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon sriracha hot sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring water to a boil. Add green beans, cover, and steam until tender, 2 to 6 minutes.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; cook onion and garlic for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add sesame seeds; cook and stir until sesame seeds are golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes.
- Mix soy sauce, mayonnaise, sriracha hot sauce, and allspice into onion mixture. Add green beans and toss to coat; season with salt and pepper.
I made these last night and they were really tasty but WAY too salty, even using low sodium sauce. Will make them again but increase the mayo and use only 1/2 (or less of the soy sauce.
These green beans look amazing! I need these in my life asap… as in tomorrow night for dinner.
