Fall Scented Homemade Playdough
This Fall craft is SO much fun to make with your kids. You’ll have their attention as soon as you say scented playdough. My kids were like little hawks in the kitchen watching my every move as I tested this recipe (again). My big ones don’t remember, but I made this same playdough many years ago as a class gift for my daughter’s kindergarten class. The kids LOVED it and could not wait to play with it. When they realized the playdough had the scent of caramel, all they wanted to do was keep it under their little noses. It seriously smells so wonderful! It’s the perfect little gift for classrooms, neighbors, friends or given as a party favor.
You can find cute little cookie cutters at your local craft store. I found these at AC Moore.
Adding caramel extract, ground cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice or vanilla extract to your playdough will deliver that OMG reaction when they realize it smells like Fall!!
Mix your food coloring in a separate bowl before kneading it into your playdough to ensure the right color the first time.
Serious sensory stimulation here as you can’t help enjoy the scent of this soft, warm colored, Fall-inspired playdough. My son Cayden was in heaven, as were my other 4, as they crafted trees, wreaths and pillows (bahaha) out of their playdough. Mom’s extracurricular activities can be pretty awesome sometimes. 😉
Thank you Crystal from Dangerously Delicious for sharing this Fall Scented Homemade Playdough!

I found this recipe the other day and decided to make it today because my son’s play-doh was drying out. This recipe was so easy to make that I plan to make more. Thank you for this great recipe!
How long does the playdoh last? Thinking of putting it into one of my PK centers!
I don’t know because I am not the author of this recipe. It was written by a contributor. Sorry!
I used to make this for my kindergarteners. It will last for 3-4weeks if it’s refrigerated when not in use.Â
I just love the pic of your cute boy smelling the playdough! We have a long weekend coming up and I know what we’ll be doing! 😉
Aww thank you Grace. Hope your kids love it as much as mine do!
This playdough sounds amazing! We’ll have to make some soon!
