Chocolate Covered Bacon…Man Candy
Chocolate covered bacon…yum or ew?
I thought it could go either way. But it’s yum. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum.
Let’s call it Man Candy. How could salty crisp bacon dipped in gooey milk chocolate not draw the men in? Or anyone for that matter.
My husband thought it tasted like a Heath bar? What???
It’s the perfect little snack for March Madness. Whether your enduring it…or actually enjoying the games…
Chocolate Covered Bacon…Man Candy
Ingredients
- 16 slices applewood smoked bacon, thick cut
- 12 ounces semisweet or milk chocolate, chopped
- 4 ounces white chocolate or almond bark, chopped
Instructions
- Cook bacon until crisp. You can either cook it in a pan on the stove until crisp or on a foil lined pan in the oven at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Place cooked bacon on paper towels to drain and cool. Cut each bacon strip in half.
- Melt your semi-sweet/milk chocolate. You can either melt it in a double boiler or in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval. You can add about a teaspoon of shortening to thin out the chocolate even more if you want a thinner consistency. Whisk until completely smooth.
- Lay the bacon on a fork and dunk the bacon into the semisweet chocolate and make sure it is completely coated. Gently tap the fork against the side of the bowl letting the excess drip off and lay on a parchment or waxed paper lined quarter sheet tray. Repeat with all the bacon slices.
- Melt the white chocolate/almond bark in the microwave in 30 second intervals until melted. Be careful not to heat it too much or it will seize. Drizzle over the chocolate covered bacon. Put the sheet tray in the refrigerator to set, about 20 to 30 minutes. Remove from the sheet tray to a serving dish and serve.

I have made your recipe for chocolate chip bacon cookies and they were awesome. I think I might try this but ill candy the bacon first and dip them in dark chocolate to counter the super sweetness of the carmeliness (if thats even a word)with the bacon
I haven’t tried the bacon with sweet yet, but I think I need to start trying now!!
Chocolate covered bacon! Simply amazing!
This is amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Well call me a man and hand me some candy…yum!
When I saw this I had to share with you that I recently went to a restaurant where for dessert we had bacon s’mores! Chocolate dipped bacon, homemade peanut butter, graham crackers, and homemade marshmallows drizzled with caramel sauce. They were deconstructed so half the fun was putting them together!
Super delicious, but super unhealthy. Either way I’d love to eat this!

Sounds interesting! I’ve gotta try…The kids will be surprised, they’ll surely love this!
I thought I had seen bacon versions of everything, but bacon chocolate? This is a new one! Love it!
I have never had chocolate covered bacon before, but I’ve had other desserts with bacon and imagine that this would be just as good. Thanks for sharing!
That’s a little freaky! 😉 But it looks cool. 🙂
Ok — So maybe I’ll ask the Bunny to bring me chocolate covered bacon this Easter rather than the usual marshmallow eggs. I anticipate YUM!
Oh my…I’m intrigued. My family is full of bacon lovers. We love our chocolate too- why not try ’em together?!
I’ve heard of this, but honestly never thought of doing it at home. Next time I make bacon I’m putting a few pieces aside to do this!
O.k……that’s strange…. but i am girl who eats everything, too!!!!!
I will try it!!!!!
At our local hamburger joint they serve bacon brownies!
