{KETO} Egg Roll in a Bowl
Keto Egg Roll in a Bowl is a one-pan dinner made in 15 minutes and is packed with protein and flavor. Made with either ground pork or beef, this Keto recipe tastes just like an Asian egg roll but without the egg roll wrapper.

KETO EGG ROLL IN A BOWL
As I have voiced recently, all my loved ones around me have been doing the Keto diet. I have heard, researched, and cooked all things Keto for the last couple of years. I feel like my life revolves around Keto.
In fact, I joked that any time someone says the word “Keto” around me they have to put a dollar in the swear jar.
If you don’t know what a swear jar is, you’ll probably never waited tables in college.
This Egg Roll in a Bowl is not only Keto but is also a regular dish that I make for the family whether or not they are on the Keto diet.
WHY IS THIS KETO OR LOW-CARB?
Don’t be scared if you aren’t on the Keto diet. The Keto diet is a very low-carb diet which makes this recipe perfect with a net carb of 3 grams.
WHAT IS IN EGG ROLL IN A BOWL?
Egg rolls have ground pork (or beef), cabbage, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil in them. We added some sriracha and green onions to the top for flavor.
DOES AN EGG ROLL HAVE AN EGG IN IT?
A traditional egg roll does not have egg in it but gets its name from the egg in the egg roll wrapper that wraps it all up. We add an egg at the end of cooking this Egg Roll in the Bowl because we love the flavor and extra protein it gives.
If you are doing the Keto diet, eggs are your best friend and are a great addition to this Asian Egg Roll in a Bowl.
WHAT KIND OF MEAT DO I USE?
You can use either pork or beef in this recipe. When eating Keto, it’s really important to have high quality meat that has healthy fat in it.
Grass-fed, organic meat is:
- lower in calories
- contains healthy fats and is high in omega 3s
- supports normal blood sugar levels
WHAT TO EAT WITH EGG ROLL IN A BOWL?
To be honest, usually nothing. It’s a meal all in one!

Notes
Subbed pork for the beef, but great recipe!
This has become my favorite recipe! It’s quick and delicious!
Thank you!
Excellent recipe
I have shared with several of my friends and they say to that this is excellent
Thank you!
Super easy and tasty.
hx!
WOW!!
So I have made this twice now the first time I followed the recipe to a T. The second time I made a few adjustments by adding 1 tablespoon of fresh minced ginger and 1 teaspoon of fish sauce. I used ground pork instead of ground beef and used a package of Taylor farms Asian salad kit. But I omitted the dressing and sprinkled the wonton and sliced almonds over 4 individual bowls. Wontons aren’t keto but there wasn’t enough to worry about. Next time I will try it with ground chicken.
So glad you liked it!
I basically followed this recipe with some additions. I added 1/2 lb Jimmy Dean original sausage meat, 1 lb small shrimp cut in half, 1/2 medium diced onion, 2 scrambled eggs and 2 bags of coleslaw mix and 1/2 teaspoons 5 spice powder. It is soooo good!
Thank you!
I love this recipe! It comes together so quickly, it’s low cal and delicious! I add more Sriracha to give it a kick.
Thank you!
It’s so good and easy for a non cook like me. You can adjust the ingredients a bit to make it more spicy etc. I usually add 2-3 eggs. Love all the recipes.
Thank you!
Excellent version of the classic recipe! The addition of sriracha was a winning idea!
Thank you!
This was really good! Sriracha sauce is too strong for us so I used a spicy Yum Yum sauce and it was perfect. This goes into the bi-monthly rotation.
Thank you!
Best egg roll in a bowl recipe! Only recipe I will use. Thank you for sharing it. My family loves it
AW thank you!
Love this recipe! We put the mixture in lettuce and made lettuce wraps using the meat and coleslaw mixture. It made such a nice quick meal and easy to hold in our hands and enjoy. It’s become a family favorite for packed lunches and dinner meals. Thank you
Great idea!
I love, this recipe! Made it four times this summer.
THank you!
Second time making this! I doubled the eggs and add extra siracha at the end! Can’t get enough!
I used jimmy dean pork sausage with sage…it added so much flavor…I also add some Oyster sauce with the soy…I didn’t see how to make my own comment post…but I hope you try it 😉
Love that! We add an extra egg often too
I made this twice! The first with shrimp, but since it was my first time, I added too much water and it became too soupy. Second time I used ground turkey and didn’t add any water! It came out so much better and it’s a great low carb, quick and easy meal (I used the coleslaw mix for convenience). Great recipe!
Thank you!
Very tasty
Thank you!
Yummy! We ate every bite of it. I shredded a whole head of cabbage and left half raw. It’s a nice texture if you have some raw and some cooked. Lots of crunch!
You could try adding bean sprouts for a crunch…I miss the eggrolls that were made with sprouts instead of cabbage
Yes I agree I like some texture.
Love this. I used Reduced Sodium and it still is so salty. Any other ideas on what I could change? Thx very much!!
Skip the salt in the recipe…try adding a little Oyster sauce with the soy
What kind of meat did you use?
My family absolutely loves this recipe. It’s something I crave. I have done it with ground pork, ground pork sausage and more recently, tiny shrimp ( just add the shrimp at the end so they don’t get overcooked.) My kids really like the scrambled egg in there so I add at least two. Honestly I make a double batch of this because my kids inhale it ( and so do I.)
THank you!
Made it today. loved the ease of this dish. And my fussy son enjoyed it!
Happy to hear that!
This is the best egg roll bowl recipe! My salt grinder jammed and I couldn’t use salt, and the only salt blend I had in my spice drawer was Dan’O’s spicy, so it was extra spicy!! But so good!
Yum!
Delicious. I added a can of diced water chestnuts and it gave it a nice, needed crunch!
Great idea!
Do you drain the grease from the beef before you add in the other ingredients?
I do. I just use a paper towel to soak up the grease before adding the cabbage.
This recipe is in the regular rotation at my house. We’ve made as the recipe calls minus the siracha (no one’s a fan of spicy here) and it’s great! Since then I’ve used ground beef, ground chicken, and leftover diced up rotisserie chicken. Flavor is closest to an egg roll with ground pork but good with all of them so far. I also double, triple or even quadruple the eggs some times. We’ve eaten it as is or over white or brown rice. Use Cole slaw mix, a head of cabbage, add shredded carrot or other veggies… edamame is a good add. Super versatile recipe!
Great changes!
Three stars as written although I think it will be in our rotation with less (low sodium) Soy Sauce. I doubled the recipe so basically used twice as much of all ingredients. The soy sauce, which I like, was just overpowering so it was difficult to eat. The balance of ingredients seemed perfect with the ability to add items per your preference (I added sliced mushrooms). I think the next time I make it, which will be soon, I will start with very little Soy sauce and add to my taste. Thanks for posting the recipe.
This is one of our new favorites and so easy to make on a weeknight. I tried ground chicken, ground beef and pork sausage to see which one is best and my husband said all three. Thank you for sharing!!
So glad you liked it.
So delicious — thank you. Perfect meal for a busy week night, I used ground turkey because that’s what I had.
Thank you Sue!
Wow! So delicious! I used a sugar free chili sauce instead of sirrachha (just don’t like the flavor). So very good … used ground turkey! Thank you for recipe, I am in love!
Can you confirm whether you used the light or dark sesame oil? I used light and it was sooooooo over-powering.
I use toasted sesame oil. You definitely can not add it if you’re not a fan of the flavor.
Made this for dinner with some deep fried low carb tortilla chips. Yummy!!
Yum!
It was amazing! I’m adding it to my family’s favorites.
I didn’t have sriracha I substituted hot sauce and it was delicious 😋
Thank you!
This recipe is so good! I’ve made this a few times now for me and my fiance, and I definitely recommend adding some sweet chili sauce if you have it (I know that wouldn’t be keto anymore, but if you don’t have any dietary restrictions, it really is the perfect addition!).
Great tip!
can this be frozen once cooked.
I personally have not done so but some have
This sounds and looks amazing but I’ve yet to try it bc I can’t ever read the full recipe. Each time I try one or more parts are covered with jarring ads that flicker or jump around. I wait, willing to watch the ad, but it never goes away. So I attempt to “x” out of it and it takes me to another ad. I can’t find a way to access the recipe and have tried patiently several times. If you havw any suggestions, let mw know! It does look amazing though!
Try clicking on the “print” button and it will pull up an ad-free printable version (which you can just view on your screen rather than print if you’d like). 🙂
Yes the jump to recipe button is at the top. Hope that helps
This was a very tasty dish! I wasn’t sure about using the Siracha so I added a little to my plate and decided it was a perfect addition. It is a very versatile dish when it comes to making variations. I did end up using ground pork and added diced carrots, sweet onion, celery and a few shrimp only because that’s what comes in the egg rolls and spring rolls around here. Definitely a keeper!
Thanks Maria!
So easy and delicious!!
Thank you!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS RECIPE!! We have this in one form or another every week because it is so yummy and easy! For ease of preparation and convenience I use a one 16 oz bag of Tri-Color Cole Slaw and a half bag ( abt 220 g) of mini sweet peppers and ground beef or shrimp whatever we are feeling like. We pair it with quinoa or brown rice and steamed broccoli or green beans. Thank you for a delicious recipe!
Thank you!
This was delicious! I made brown rice, for a layer.Even my kids enjoyed it. Thank you
Thank yoU!
I love this dish! Just the way it is – perfect! I have made modifications for the heck of it and it is still delicious! I have added in and substituted ground chicken in replace or of beef or pork and added carrots, mushrooms, celery, broccoli and still yum no matter what!
Thank you!
I made this for supper tonight. I left out the egg and Sriracha cause I’m not a fan of eggs in it and I’m the only one that likes spicy. So I added Sriracha to mine. It was absolutely 💯 delicious!!! 😋
Thank you!
