Maybe you’re thinking that you don’t need an instant pot spaghetti in your life. This recipe came about when I literally had no time to do all the components separately and one pot was the answer.
Pressure cooking is a little intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it, it’s so easy.
To make this even quicker you can use frozen cooked ground beef. Whenever I’m cooking ground beef I like to do it in batches and freeze some for busy weeknights.
SIMPLE INGREDIENTS
- LEAN GROUND BEEF – You could use Italian sausage instead or even leave the beef out. I like to use a lean beef so you don’t have excess grease.
- SPAGHETTI NOODLES – Thin spaghetti or angel hair spaghetti will get overcooked so stick with regular spaghetti.
- MARINARA SAUCE – I like Rao’s tomato sauce but any jar of spaghetti sauce will do.
- SEASONINGS
- WATER – Instead of water you could use chicken broth for more flavor.
HOW TO MAKE THIS
- Press the Instant Pot button to the sauté setting. Let it heat up then add the ground beef to the bottom of the pot. Add the Italian seasoning, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder on top of the meat. Cook the meat, breaking it up until no longer pink.
- Turn off the sauté button. Break the spaghetti noodles in half and place on top of meat in a criss-cross pattern in the Instant Pot (this helps prevent clumping).
- Pour marinara sauce over spaghetti. Pour 4 cups of water over the mixture trying to make sure all the noodles get wet. Seal instant pot and set to pressure cook mode on high pressure for 8 minutes.
- As soon as the time is up, use the quick release button. When pressure has released, open and stir the spaghetti with the meat sauce.Serve immediately and serve with grated Parmesan.
WHAT TO SERVE WITH THIS
- GARLIC BREAD
- GREEN SALAD
