PIZZA DIP RECIPE
WHAT’S IN PIZZA DIP
INGREDIENTS
- Cream Cheese
- Pizza Sauce or Marinara Sauce
- Layered cheeses – Parmesan Cheese and mozzarella Cheese
- Herbs – oregano, parsley, basil, garlic powder
HOW TO MAKE PIZZA DIP
-
In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese, oregano, parsley, basil, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
-
Spread mixture in the bottom of a 9 inch pie plate, or a shallow microwave-safe dish. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup of the Parmesan cheese on top of the cream cheese mixture. Spread the pizza sauce over all.
-
Microwave the pepperoni for about 30 seconds just to get some of the fat out of them so you don’t end up with a greasy mess on top of your pizza dip.
-
Sprinkle with remaining cheeses, then layer with green pepper, pepperoni and olive slices. Cover, and microwave for 5 minutes or bake in a 350 degree oven (my preferred method) for 15-20 minutes. Serve hot with baguette slices, tortilla chips, or Fritos scoops.

Notes
I saw a recipe for Pizza Dip in a magazine and came to your site to see if you had a version of it. I want to make it for a Super Bowl party. The other recipe used ricotta cheese instead of cream cheese – do you think that might be better? Cream cheese can sometimes be overpowering. I am curious about how this is – most of the comments listed are by folks who want to or are going to make this but none that had.
Thanks!
The cream cheese is definitely a predominant flavor. I think ricotta could work as well but will be thinner for sure.

Loved it! And served on zucchini slices it was totally Atkins friendly!
Yes. Just make everything the day ahead but don’t bake. You can of you want and just reheat it in the microwave but it’s not necessary.
I want to make this for Super Bowl tomorrow and you said it was better to make it the day ahead… do you do every step except for baking it??? Thanks 🙂
What?!? You mean that that itching does NOT mean fat molecules are wiggling and burning up from all that energy I put into them?!? I thought that it meant my chub was burning off, too, and I’ll still attribute it to that.
This looks really flavorful…Perfect for this weekend’s great party. It’s nice that your back with lots of physical activities again…Keep posting!
The recipe looks delish but especially thanks for the info on the itching. I recently had baby boy #3 and after I got the all clear went for a nice long walk/jog. I came home and started to itch and burn like crazy. Itching while exercising is normal for me also but nothing like this, glad to know I’m not alone. Also we had pizza rolls tonight, they were a hit!
This looks very yummy!
I’ve definitely been itchy during exercise to the point where it’s almost painful not to itch! I’ve kinda noticed it more when I haven’t exercised, so hopefully as you get back into the swings of things, it will go away. Good luck!
This looks absolutely delicious. Would love for you to share your gorgeous pictures with us at foodepix.com.
Three things:
I love your site- I have gotten SO MANY great recipes here!
I have the same problem with being itchy while exercising- it started after baby number one- and it is all the time (whether i have worked out before or not)- I not only itch, I get HUNDREDS of hives all over my body. And then people wonder why I consider working out torture? Seriously! The only thing I can do to help? Take Benedryl before or right after I exercise… ha ha
And three- this dip looks just delicious…. yum!
this looks delicious and would be the perfect addition to any super bowl party!
Fun! Just found you via Tastespotting! We love pizza dip, but prefer to do a vegetarian version to avoid exposure to nitrates. Still tastes amazing!!!
GREAT photos!
Congrats on the baby! I had my son 3 months ago and the first 20lb went with a flash, but I had 7 stubborn lbs that REFUSED to go…I kept at it and finally lost every last pound. Keep at it and you will see results. As for this dip…my, my..I may have to break my diet for this one.
This is one of our favorite dips. We’ve never added olives, but are definitely going to try next time!
Love the look of this appetizer – makes for a great twist on a traditional dip!
This looks delicious!! I itch almost every time I exercise, and I work out at least 3 hours/week. The best explanation I’ve found (for me at least) is that I don’t sweat – at all. I think my body itching is its way of trying to get that heat out, which can’t, so it reacts by making me itch. Very uncomfortable and unfortunate (also, it looks awkward when I’m in a kickboxing class and can’t help but scratch my neck or legs…) I’m sure you are still sweating, but perhaps your body is adjusting to a new way its regulating itself, post-baby.
This needs to make an appearance at my house on Sunday. YUM!!!
Wow. This might be even something we can get our KIDS to eat!!! Most dips I make are more adult friendly (1 kid can’t eat hummus, the other doesn’t like it, neither kid likes spinach so a spinach dip is out).
But this.
Looks very family friendly! YUM!
The colors are so vibrant.. I like this recipe!
OMG. I know what I will be making for Super Bowl Sunday.
Thank U 4 the recipe

Ive been seeing this pizza dip all over! Your blog, Michelle’s yesterday, another guy’s blog, superbowl recipe roundups..the universe wants me to make it. You make it look delish!!
Itching is a totally normal occurrence for me, even without long periods of inactivity. I walk around the block and my legs itch like crazy. I jog and my whole body itches. I come inside after being in the cold and my whole body itches. I’d rather be sore than deal with the itching, so annoying.
This looks super good!
I’m always sore if I’ve taken a long break from working out, then start again…. but I’ve never started itching. Best of luck with getting back to your exercise routine and hopefully you won’t experience anymore of the itching!
This looks super yummy! and since me and my husband love all things flavored pizza, I will totally be making this this weekend. I will be the best wife!
