Easy Churro Bites
Easy Churro Bites are made with four simple ingredients: angel food cake, oil, cinnamon, and sugar. This is the easiest dessert for Cinco De Mayo.

CHURRO BITES
Churros happen to be my thing. Ever since my first trip to Disneyland as a four-year-old I’ve had a love for the cinnamon sugar treat. Now that we live in Florida, Disney World is 3 1/2 hours away. Way too far to get a quick churro.
These churro bites are the next best thing. It all starts with angel food cake. I just buy one from my bakery and sometimes I only use half of it. I cut the other half of the angel food cake in cubes and freeze them for a rainy day.
Fry the angel food cake bites in a little oil until golden brown.
Roll them in cinnamon sugar right after they are fried.
WHAT KIND OF OIL TO USE
You can use any kind of oil you like. Here are a few that would work.
- vegetable oil
- canolia oil
- coconut oil
- peanut oil
FREEZING
I don’t recommend freezing the churro bites after they have been fried but you can freeze the angel food cake cubes before for later use.

Easy Churro Bites
Ingredients
- 1 prepared angel food cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- oil for frying, (vegetable, canola, coconut, or peanut oil)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon.
- In a deep pot, heat about 2 inches of oil to about 350 degrees. Drop angel food cubes a batch at a time into the hot oil and cook until golden brown. This usually only takes about 10 seconds. Flip and cook the other side. Remove with a metal strainer and place on paper towel lined plates. Toss in cinnamon sugar immediately (this helps to keep it stick). Continue with remaining angel food cake cubes.
How do these store overnight? I’m looking for a recipe I can make the night before.
These are actually best served immediately. You could store them in an airtight container.
This looks delicious!  Could it be made  in an air fryer?
Suzanne, I wondered that too. I hope so!
Haven’t tried it but I don’t see why not?
