EASY PEACH COBBLER RECIPE
Peaches and I have a bad history. I won’t go into too much detail but our relationship has been rocky with a long road of making up to do.
Then there’s my husband who says every time he eats peach cobbler he wishes it was apple cobbler. Another hater.
Needless to say this easy peach cobbler had a whole lot to prove.
But I’m The Girl Who Ate Everything, so no food is off limits…no calories left unexplored.
4-INGREDIENT PEACH COBBLER
The best part is that there are only four ingredients in this cobbler. This is the easiest cobbler you will ever make with simple ingredients.
Here’s what happened: A little bit of the flour mixture is sprinkled on the bottom of the pan and mixes with the peach juices and stick of butter while cooking making it a thick peach filling.
PEACH COBBLER WITH CANNED PEACHES
The great thing about using cans of peaches is that you can make it anytime of year and not just during peach season. Of course you could use fresh fruit.
There’s nothing like juicy peaches in a fresh peach cobbler.
The crust is the perfect combo of light with a slight crispness on top. It’s not a biscuit dough topping that some cobblers have.
You might be worried it’s too wet when you stick it in the oven but after it bakes and has rested for a couple of minutes, it is perfect.
If you like yours on the drier side just don’t add all of the liquid from the peaches.
Some people use a cake mix. I’ve absolutely have done that before but this cobbler topping is so easy and tastes more like a homemade peach cobbler.
SELF-RISING FLOUR SUBSTITUTE
If you don’t keep self-rising flour on hand, make your own.
For every 1 cup self-rising flour needed, mix together: 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon baking soda.
WANT TO USE FRESH PEACHES?
When using fresh ripe peaches, peel and slice them, and sprinkle the slices with an additional 1/2 cup sugar. Refrigerate peach slices for 2 to 3 hours before using and they will make their own syrup with their peach juice.
You will need 1 3/4 pounds of peaches which around 5-6 medium peaches sliced.
HOW TO MAKE THIS
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium-size mixing bowl coarsely mix the flour, 3/4 cup of the sugar, and 1/4 cup melted butter together. You can add a dash of cinnamon here if you want too.
- Sprinkle about one-third of the flour mixture on the bottom of an 9×9 baking dish. The flour mixture will slightly mix with the syrup of the peaches while baking and thicken it up a bit.
- Add the peaches with their juice to the dish. If you like your cobbler on the dry side don’t add all of the liquid.
- Sprinkle the top of the peaches with the remaining sugar/flour mixture. Sprinkle the top with the remaining 2 tablespoons sugar. Drizzle with the remaining 1/4 cup of on melted butter on top of the batter. There will be a lot of liquid and it will look wet. Don’t worry, the flour mixture will soak up the liquid.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly. Let cobbler sit for at least 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- This can easily be doubled in a 9×13 baking dish.
TIPS:
- You can double this in a 9×13 baking dish.
- This is on the sweet side so you could cut the amount of sugar if you like. You can even use brown sugar for a deeper tone.
- Add a tablespoon of lemon juice to brighten the flavor.
- Use a teaspoon of vanilla extract for some vanilla flavor.

This right here, is BANGING!!
I added cinnamon and a splash of nutmeg. Love it!
I think the nice time I would add about 1/4 cup of quick oats to the flour topping.
Thank you!
This was a big hit and crowd pleaser. I added a little cinnamon and vanilla.
Thank you!
If you double the recipe how long do you cook it?
Same time if you use a 9×13 pan
Woke up this morning wanting a peach cobbler.
I had all the ingredients except for the crust.
I looked online for a peach cobbler recipe because I didn’t feel like going to store for a pre-made crust.
luckily I found your recipe it was very simple and quick “it’s in the oven now”.
Hope you love it!
You didn’t add the milk
There’s no milk in this recipe!
My fave easy peach cobbler!
Thank you!
“Thank you for such a simply sweet tasty Peach Cobbler Recipe. 🍑 Gratefully appreciated. ” – BeautifullyLoved
Thank you Charlotte.
I’m glad you made your peace with peaches. This recipe is wonderful, way better than the usual peach cobbler recipes I’ve tried in the past. Thank you so much
Thank you so much!
That’s the easiest peach cobbler I have ever made. Thanks so much for your suggestions and I will keep making this amazing cobbler my husband is gobbling up as I’m typing.
I love the simplicity of the recipe. However I did intend to add cinnamon but somehow picked up the cumin!!!! Afterwards I added the cinnamon. It’s still baking and smells delicious. I’ll give a try after my siesta.😊
Oh my gosh that made me laugh out loud.
I gave it a try and it was good and delicious w/ a scoop of ice cream.
Thank you so much.
Thank you Fannie!
This is great and perfect for my family. I’ve made it twice now. Had to add the cinnamon. Next time will add nutmeg as that was how my husband’s grandmother made it.
So easy.
Thank you!
I needed to watch the entire video. It was not available; I am crossing my fingers I have done it correctly.
weird the video is there!
That peach cobbler recipe was very good
Thank you!
Wonderful and very easy to make !!
thank you!
I love this recipe, very easy to make with minimal ingredients. I used brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice and vanilla. My Family loves it with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Thank you for sharing, it is in my recipe book!!!
thank you!
If using brown sugar do I use the same amount. What about vanilla. Recipe looks delicious going to try it but wanted to know how much brown sugar and vanilla
Best cobbler I have ever made!! 3 people ate the whole pan when it was done.
I doubled the recipe for a 9 x 13 pan!
It was absolutely delicious! Thanks for sharing!
AWESOME! I HAD 1 15 OZ. can of peaches. I halfed the recipe. Just the right servings for my husband and I. Thank you so much!
thank you!
Thank you for a great Peach Cobbler recipe. I give 5 stars because of the EASE in terms of ingredients, prep, & time involved.
1.) This makes a good peach cobbler BASE, meaning, you can build on this recipe to make it your own. My husband who requested a peach cobbler said “it’s good, but it’s missing something at the end”.
2.) As Christy stated, it is on the sweet side. The comments about the sweetness are not exaggerated either. Next time, I’d use 1/2 cup of sugar instead of the 3/4. I’d also sprinkle the top with only 1 tbsp of sugar, as opposed to the 2 tbsp.
3.) The “something” that is missing is depth. I’d definitely add cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla & lemon juice into the batter. I’d also do what I did with the sugar, which is use 1/2 golden brown and 1/2 regular sugar mixed.
All that said, this recipe is really good on it’s own, very simple, and if I would change 1 thing in the base recipe, it would be to cut down the sugar.
The easiest recipe I have ever used, and surprisingly delicious considering how easy it is and tour can substitute brown sugar for regular sugar.
Thanks!
Amazing!! So easy and everyone loved it! My first attempt at a cobbler and I have already added to my favorite recipes cookbook! Thanks
Thank you!
This is exactly how my grandma and my daddy make there’s, it’s so delicious and perfect around the holidays!!
Thank you!
Very Very Good 💯!!!!
Thank you!!
I just had to leave a comment! This recipe is amazing! My husband has never had peach cobbler, and I made this. He absolutely LOVED it! We both did. Thank you so much!! 💓
Thank you!!
I loved it! My only question is, is there anyway to make it no-fruit? Like everything the same, just don’t add the fruit? I LOVED the crust so much, I’d rather have just that instead of with added fruit.
I think it will just be a cake? I haven’t tried it
That’s my favorite part too! Normally I don’t like peaches but I do love some peach cobbler…but the bread part is what I look forward to! Especially the corners of the pan!!!
It was perfect❤️ Thank you for sharing 🫶🏼
Thank you!!
Very good thanks
Thank you!!
Followed the recipe with fresh peaches. Turned out great!
Thank you!!
Oh my goodness…first time ever making or eating peach cobbler and this recipe was absolutely delicious 😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤. I did add a couple minutes of low broil to give a little more browning. 😋
Thank you!!
Amazing! So easy. I followed the recipe to the letter because simple, low effort and comforting is what I was after. Just added some raspberries to the peaches to give it some acidity and balance all the sugar. A huge hit in my house accompanied by vanilla ice cream. My kids couldn’t believe I did a ‘proper pudding’ on a Monday night 🙂
I added some of my own touches. The outcome from my son and hubby was that this was the best! I went with the brown sugar. Added some bourbon, cinnamon, vanilla, almond and cornstarch to the peaches. Put cinnamon and allspice in the crust. For the springle on top I added some chopped toasted pecans w a dash of cinnamon there too. I have to say it was amazing! Loved how the crust was crispy!
Thank you!!
Yummy & will use with few different kinds of fruits !
Easy to make & quick when bake them .
Everyone was saying too much sugar, too much butter, use less, but no one said how much less. So, I’m sharing what worked for me. I used 1/2 cup sugar with my fresh peaches as suggested, but with the flour mixture, I used only 1/2 cup, and no extra sugar on top. Also, I put 1/4 cup melted butter in the flour mixture, but only drizzled 2 tbsp. of melted butter on the top, so that was 3/4 of a stick of butter instead of a whole one. The only other changes I made was I added 1 Tbsp lemon juice and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon (no one said how much cinnamon either). I served it with vanilla bean ice cream, and not only did I think it tasted perfect, but I got rave reviews from my family.
The bomb!!!!!! Took 10 minutes to make. Added fresh blueberries on top. Sooooooooo good. Short prep time.
This recipe produced a dry cobbler when I used fresh peaches, sliced and refrigerated with sugar for 3 hours, as suggested. It might be better with canned fruit, or maybe I should have cooked the peaches in advance?
Always looking for ez recipes that I can prepare with little effort
Same same
Best ever tasted!!!!!
I love hearing that.
I doubled the recipe, and it worked. The cobbler has a good flavor, but it was too buttery for my taste. Next time I will reduce the amount of butter. Also, I noticed that it stuck a little to the baking dish. Maybe greasing the dish would help.
When you doubled your batch did your flour mixture come out sticky? Idk if I did it right, only because my mixture was super sticky.
Making this today, I’ll post after I’m finished
Tried this recipe for the first time.I like quick and simple.loved it.I tried cake mix but was not convinced. This I will make over and over again. Thanks will try more of your tecipes
I love hearing that.
This is the best cobbler I’ve ever made, and it’s easier and with less ingredients (no milk)…. I was skeptical that it would turn out good due to no milk, but I was very wrong. I’ll always make it this way from now on!
Thank you!
I just wanted to say thanks for sharing your recipes. I’ve not made a peach cobbler in 30 plus years. I was pretty sure I remembered all the ingredients. Just double checking. So thanks again.
Aw thank you!
A favorite recipe!!!! I cooked the recipe with fresh peaches as stated and all the tips were so helpful. I kept half of the juice back to get the prefect texture in the cobbler. The recipients oohed and aahed over the cobbler as the best they had ever had. I cooked it half way in the toaster oven, went out to dinner and cooked it the other half when we got back home. Served it in a sundae cup with a spoonful of Häagen-Dazs ice vanilla bean ice cream. The hot with the cold was unbelievably delicious!!!!!!
Yumm so happy to hear that
I messed it up a little bit but it was still AMAZING! My little sister loved it too! Definitely my go to recipe from now on. Delicious.
Thank you!
Trying this recipe today
Awesome!!
Tried this on a hunch, bcuz of ‘simple-ness’ of recipe and ingredients. I prayed it would be good, as I had bible study group over smelling it as it cooked! I didn’t have canned peaches, only had canned peach pie filling. Well guess what? WOW! It got nothing but compliments and requests for more! Getting ready to make again, using canned peaches as recipe calls for. Will update later 😉
Yay!!!
I want have fresh peaches to make a dessert
Love the recipe
Thank you!
Delicious 😋
Thank you!
Can you make this ahead of time? What are the storing recommendations?
The topping might start to get soft from the peaches. You could store in the fridge
This is a good easy recipe, but didn’t feel there was enough crust. I may work with it a little. Possibly cut down on amount of butter and add a bit more flour. I like using cake mix with added flour in these types of recipes. Also, I usually never use the full amount of sugar that recipes call for.
I have read all the comments, can’t wait to try this recipe. Thank you so much for sharing.
You’re welcome!
I was gifted 20 little peach snack cups. They worked great.
Thank you!
This is my second time making this recipe and I have tried one other recipe, But it just did not compare. Definitely, 5 stars all the way around its absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend making this.
aw thank you!
So so good!
Thank you!
I’m about to make my first ever peach cobbler….but…I’m making it in one of those big disposable baking pans. I plan on quadrupleing this. Will it still cook ok?
And I’m curious, why do some add milk and others do not?
Yes! That should work and milk it just personal taste
This is the best cobbler recipe I have found I love that it taste more like a peach crisp I can’t wait to try the recipe with apples Thank you for sharing a awesome recipe
Thank you!
The peach cobbler is my go to recipe. I do cut back a little on the sugar and I also add a pinch of cinnamon.
This is so easy and yummy.
Thank you!
Made this as my neighbor gave me a bag of fresh peaches. Was very happy with the outcome. I did not have self rising flour so opted for the second option. The cinnamon complement the taste. I will definitely use again.
So glad you liked it!
I use this recipe except I cook my fresh peaches with a fourth cup of sugar and a little bit of water until syrupy. Gives me lots of peach juice to make a perfect crust.
Perfect!
This turned out amazing with fresh picked blackberries added. Also, I never peel the peaches and it always tastes delish regardless. Per the recipes tips: I used only half the amount of sugar and it was just perfect served with fresh whipped cream. Yummy!
So glad you liked it!
Fantastic! I also made it with fresh peaches but didn’t risk they would provide juice. I just mixed 1/3
hot water with 2 tablespoons sugar and poured on bottom. I also mixed sugar/cinnamon and sprinkled all over the top then used a fork to spread all around. Baked according to your recipe.
Great idea!
This was easy and delicious! I didn’t have any icecream but it was so tasty, it didn’t need it! Thanks for the recipe!
You are welcome!
I made this for an 8×8 pan and used fresh peaches, though we’re still getting cling stone. I thought it might be too much flour mixture and maybe even too many peaches. But that part was okay. I didn’t have self-rising flour, so I followed the instructions for making my own. It definitely tasted a little too salty even though I used scant everything except flour. Next time I’ll leave out the salt. Unfortunately, my oven was very busy so I had to take it out right at 45 minutes. It would have been browner (the way I like it) if I’d left it in another 4 or 5 minutes. We did enjoy it. I’ll definitely make it again in a few weeks, when free stone peaches are available.
So easy and delicious! Will be making this with all seasonal fruits!
Hope you do!
For my mom
Can apricots be substituted in place of peaches?
Sure!

This turned out scrumptious with a few changes.
I had a handful of fresh strawberries which I added to
the fresh peaches and I added dots of butter to the
top before baking. And I put a scoop of vanilla ice cream
on my serving. Yummy!
I am a 70 plus male who loves desserts… we had peaches that we had frozen and I used them and followed the recipe with the exeption of adding a bit more cinammon and a shot of vanilla. I can not wait for my best half to give her review of this masterpiece
Thank you!
I tried the peach cobbler re ipe. It tasted fine but I could not get the crust to brown. Kept putting it back in oven even after 50-55 min. Any suggestions? Gail
Shoot. Up your heat for a few minutes?
This was a disaster for me. I used fresh peaches that were so ripe and delicious however they didn’t make much juice.
The flour on the bottom never had anything to mix with.
Luckily I had good vanilla ice cream to distract from this disaster. So disappointed it was so bad.

Holy moley this is delicious! I had 5 big ripe peaches and followed recipe exactly making sub for only having all purpose flour on hand….this turned out to be the absolute best peach cobbler ever!! Must repeat this recipe. Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Very good, but more like a peach crisp than a cobbler.
I have a peach crisp that is very different. https://www.the-girl-who-ate-everything.com/peach-crisp/
Just made this cobbler. By far the best I have ever made. Love the crispy topping and subtle taste of cinnamon. It was so easy to make. It’s not going to last long in this house full of dessert lovers.
Thank you!
This is probably the best peach cobbler I’ve made, and it’s so simple! I used a little less of the peach juice, and it’s so crisp, always a crowd pleaser!
Thank you!
Can you make this with fresh strawberries?
You can!
This is the best peach cobbler I have ever had! Also makes a good blackberry cobbler! Thank you so much for sharing
How’d you make the blackberry filling?
Thank you!
