{KETO} Egg Roll in a Bowl
Keto Egg Roll in a Bowl is a one-pan dinner made in 15 minutes and is packed with protein and flavor. Made with either ground pork or beef, this Keto recipe tastes just like an Asian egg roll but without the egg roll wrapper.

KETO EGG ROLL IN A BOWL
As I have voiced recently, all my loved ones around me have been doing the Keto diet. I have heard, researched, and cooked all things Keto for the last couple of years. I feel like my life revolves around Keto.
In fact, I joked that any time someone says the word “Keto” around me they have to put a dollar in the swear jar.
If you don’t know what a swear jar is, you’ll probably never waited tables in college.
This Egg Roll in a Bowl is not only Keto but is also a regular dish that I make for the family whether or not they are on the Keto diet.
WHY IS THIS KETO OR LOW-CARB?
Don’t be scared if you aren’t on the Keto diet. The Keto diet is a very low-carb diet which makes this recipe perfect with a net carb of 3 grams.
WHAT IS IN EGG ROLL IN A BOWL?
Egg rolls have ground pork (or beef), cabbage, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil in them. We added some sriracha and green onions to the top for flavor.
DOES AN EGG ROLL HAVE AN EGG IN IT?
A traditional egg roll does not have egg in it but gets its name from the egg in the egg roll wrapper that wraps it all up. We add an egg at the end of cooking this Egg Roll in the Bowl because we love the flavor and extra protein it gives.
If you are doing the Keto diet, eggs are your best friend and are a great addition to this Asian Egg Roll in a Bowl.
WHAT KIND OF MEAT DO I USE?
You can use either pork or beef in this recipe. When eating Keto, it’s really important to have high quality meat that has healthy fat in it.
Grass-fed, organic meat is:
- lower in calories
- contains healthy fats and is high in omega 3s
- supports normal blood sugar levels
WHAT TO EAT WITH EGG ROLL IN A BOWL?
To be honest, usually nothing. It’s a meal all in one!

Notes
Just made this and I’m going to double the recipe as hubby and I loooove this.
So happy to hear this!
Is there a way to do this vegetarian?
I haven’t tried it without meat but I’m sure you could use a sub
I tried this using quinoa instead of pork. It was tasty but did not have the same consistency. I precooked the quinoa.
What if I don’t have cabbage?
I have spinach or romaine lettuce
Cabbage definitely gives it that crunch. But spinach would be my choice between the two options!
Meat subs work well in this – I used the frozen Gardein beefy crumbles.
Sriracha seasoning or sriracha sauce? Thanks
The sauce is what we use.
I do not have sesame oil… only canola. Will that make a difference?
The sesame oil is for flavor so it will definitely make a difference!
Yes, I agree. It does make a difference.
How much is a serving size?
It’s 1/4 of the recipe.
I love it. But all the eggrolls that I ever ate had more cabbage than meat ratio. Next time I will add more cabbage. Thank you for the recipe.
THanks. For Keto you don’t want more cabbage because that means more carbs but if that doesn’t matter to you feel free to add more.
Love it, but next time I will drastically reduce aminos, too salty for me.
Is 4.9g carbs total carbs or net carbs
That is total carbs, so net carbs would be 3
Out of town guests could not stop eating this! Deeeelish! (I do not use siracha.)
Freaking awsome! Love this recipe. I used pork loin that was tenderize.
Fabulous. You gotta try this. I am.guessing the left over will be even better.
Thank you. Its going to be a regular thing I our house. Fast, very tasty and has alittle zip to it.
Peace!
Awesome to hear thx!
This is a fantastic recipe! It is great as it is but to make it more WW friendly, I use ground turkey and a tiny part sausage, broccoli slaw, add snow peas, mushrooms, and scoop it over quinoa. I use just a few splashes of sriracha because I don’t care for too much spice. My husband adds sriracha at the table.
Definitely a keeper recipe!
Great tweaks!
I just made it and love it. I doubled the cabbage but kept the amount of meat, used 6 Tbsp of low sodium soy sauce, and only 1 Tbsp. sesame oil to reduce the calories per serving. Great recipe! While I was cooking it, my teenage son came down to see what I was making because “it smells great!”.
Yay! Success!
Thank you for this recipe it was delish!
You’re welcome!
Made this for the first time & it’s family approved. I try to do Keto but my family is on board half the time. I served this over rice & the loved it. For my party of 6 I doubled the recipe & had enough for work lunch & dad’s lunch the next day. For smaller kids hold of on the siracha & just add it individually at the table.
Glad you loved it!
Outstanding. Even my husband and son.loved it.
Awesome!
Awesome dish
Thank you!
Just made this. Holy God is that good. Thank you so much for a lovely recipe that is going straight into the rotation!!
Thank you Daisy!
Both my husband and I love this recipe! I make it as is but with extra cabbage and 2 eggs. Yum!
So happy to hear that!
I’ve made this with a 50/50 mix of hot and sweet Italian sausage. I find I can skip the garlic and siracha, but I add a bit (maybe a 1/3 tsp) of chinese 5 spice I had in the cupboard for other recipes. The best part is I can cook the meat ahead of time and freeze it so it’s even easier to make at meal time. I also like it better with double the slaw. I find it reheats wonderfully. Unfortunately, I’m the only one in the house that really likes it.
Shoot. i’m sorry no one else likes it!
Super quick and easy. I used low sodium soy sauce and did end up adding a little extra after plating. I was out of sriracha, so added some red pepper flakes for a little spice. I enjoyed it as is, but I’ll probably add some mushrooms and other veggies next time. Recipe is definitely a keeper.
Thank yoU!
I’ve been eyeing this recipe for a good month and finally picked up all the ingredients for dinner tonight. Wow, this is delicious! Definitely a quick & tasty meal to add to our family’s rotation. Will be making again very soon!
Hope you do!
Looks amazing .
Can this be frozen do you reckon? Im a single person and batch cooking is my thing
Not sure how great the cabbage would rethaw but it’s worth a try.
UTTERLY DELICIOUS. I like ground pork, want to try some shrimp, leftover diced chicken added at the end is good. I have some of everything and some carrots and mushrooms to shred and add.
Thank you!
Going to make it today- how is it reheated?
Great!
We love this recipe. It’s become one of our easy, go-to meals when no one feels like cooking. Move over taco salad! The only thing we added was some Hoisin sauce for a little more zip.
Hoisin sauce is a great idea!
This recipe is fan-freaking-tastic. I don’t eat Keto but do watch my macros and this really nails that itch for some take-away. We served over rice noodles for a hearty dinner and sprinkled some sesame seeds.
Totally yummy – it is now in our monthly rotation!!
Glad to hear this!
I have made a few egg roll in a bowl recipes that are Keto friendly and wow, this one is delicious! The egg really adds some flare to it!
That makes me smile.
I’ve had my eye on this one for a while. Finally made it for lunch today. HO. LEE. SMOKES.
This is SO good. I didn’t have sesame oil so I substituted coconut oil. I also used Huy Fong’s Chili Garlic Sauce instead of Sriracha just to cut down on the sugar. Next time I make it I’ll probably add another teaspoon of soy sauce and more chili sauce but that’s my personal preference…the recipe is OUTSTANDING using the original recipe.
This one will be added to my regular menu. Thank you so much for sharing!
Sounds delicious! I’m so glad you liked it as much as we do!
Is this recipe as good without the sriracha sauce? I can’t tolerate very spicy 🌶 foods. Thank you!
Yep. You can definitely leave it out.
I can’t do spicy, either. This is still so. good. even without the spice.
Made this tonight, and the flavor was excellent. Such a quick, easy prep dish!
Thank you!
Delicious and super quick meal served in one bowl. I used ground beef and it turned out fabulous! I’m new to the Keto way of eating. I will add this to my recipe collection
Haha thanks Shelly!
Made this last night! It was delicious. I had been wanting to make it for awhile. I fell into a rut of eating the same foods on Leto and was getting sick of them. This provided a much needed change in my menu. Thank you so much for sharing g the recipe. I also had thought about adding some vegetables. Something to try next time I make it! I wanted to eat the whole thing in one sitting!
**keto
AWesome! So happy you love it!
I just made this for dinner and it was sooo good! Although I don’t do much measuring in my kitchen, and hubby brought home the wrong size bag of coleslaw mix, still turned out sooo good!! I’m Jealous of myself. I have to hold myself back from eating the whole pan.
So glad you liked it!
Love this recipe for meal prep. So quick and easy but super flavorful! I have already shared this recipe with a bunch of friends. I only used the low sodium soy sauce as I found the liquid aminos to be too salty. I also sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on the top when plating.
Yum! So glad you liked it enough to share.
By far the BEST egg roll in a bowl recipe I have come across! So so delicious thank u so much!
You’re welcome!
Love this recipe. I’m a Bariatric patient so my serving sizes are different. I usually only have a cup and I’m not sure how to determine the nutrition and calories.
So the total recipe is 1324 calories. So if you eat 1/8 of it divide by eight. Does that help?
Delicious! Thanks for the recipe. If you try it, you won’t be disappointed.
Thank yoU!
I was just wondering how this holds up for leftovers?
I think this is delicious but I would cut out some of the soy sauce next time. It is salty!
Did you use low-sodium as in the ingredient list! That’s a must.
My husband loved this dish until we found out just how much sugar is actually in siracha…it’s almost as bad as ketchup! We were so sad, as siracha seemed like a great replacement…but it’s really not Keto-friendly.
That’s strange. My bottle of sriracha lists only 1 g of sugar in a tsp. I cannot imagine anyone would use more than that amount in the entire dish- it would be too hot for most people. Perhaps you could find a different brand of Sriracha? Or sub with crushed chilis or another type of hot sauce?
I use taco bell, fire sauce in place of sirahca…0 carbs
My sriracha is low in carbs. What kind are you using?
My sriracha had zero sugar! You might look for another brand! This was a delicious sugar free meal!
I used Tuong ot sriracha.
My Sriracha, which is the most common brand you see everywhere, Has zero sugars and less than 1 g of carbs per serving. You need to switch brands. Ha ha. It’s by Huy Fong Foods.
Great base recipe. Like so many other said you can add other veggies, mushrooms, and definitely recommend increasing the cabbage. Will make again.
Thank you Heather!
Wonderful recipe!
I used romaine lettuce leaves as a vehicle and a keto friendly sweet and sour dressing to drizzle on top.
I’ll definitely make this again. Thank you!
Yum!
So easy and versatile. I tried one time with pork and the next with beef and both were equally delicious.
This is my go to meal when I want something fast but healthy
So happy to hear!
Delicious, simple, fast
Love. Def will be happening again
Thank you!!
Good to hear!
Is the serving size a cup, 2 cups? Does anyone know?
If made with gf soy sauce, is this recipe gluten free?
Absolutely yes. My son has celiac and we convert all recipes to be GF
Yes!
I made this using ground turkey, fresh ginger and added carrot matchsticks to my coleslaw. We don’t tend to like raw onions in our house, so I omitted those. Everyone loved it. Added bonus, it was quick and easy to make.
Glad you liked it!
So Good ….. easy & fast ….. I will be making this again …. hubby loved it too …. 5 stars !!!!!!
Thanks!
This is very simple and delicious! First time making it tonight. Next time I will lower amount of liquid aminos as I find 1/4cup too salty. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
This is genius! And such a refreshing change from my keto lunch salads. I used ground turkey and it was super yummy. Love the sesame oil, adds the perfect level of flavor! I have lost 7 more pounds as of today, this will definitely help me keep going. Thank you!
Great recipe! My husband and I are doing Keto for the 1st time and this is a great addition to my recipes. Have made it twice in the past two weeks, and my husband requested we add it to our regular meal rotation even post-Keto. Very tasty. I used fresh ginger instead of ground. The addition of the sesame oil at the end is a must! Thanks for the delicious recipe!
Yummy!
I just made this and it was absolutely delish. Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
OMG! So delicious! Couldn’t stop eating it! I didn’t feel guilty, fit my dietary restrictions.
Nice!
This was easy to make and came out amazing! Will definitely be making it again, I think I might throw some edamame in it next time
Thank you!
This was a great recipe! I followed it as it’s written. I did end up experimenting with the left overs and found the addition of an over easy egg on the top is wonderful. Also I added a 4 net carb tortilla, grilled as a cheese quesadilla with some seasoning, and finely chopped green onion inside. Grilled in a cast iron skillet with butter and sliced into triangle cuts, it was perfect to accompany the bowl and dip in the egg. Thanks !!! Great find here and the whole family loved it.
Wow! genius!
Delicious recipe AND very flexible and very forgiving! Did I mention fast? And helps me put to good use last bits of meat or veggies in the fridge. Thank you
You’re welcome!
I love this! It’s a great meal prep food. I add 2 eggs tho, extra garlic and extra Sriracha plus I add mushrooms after sauteeing them in garlic. I ..then spoon into lettuce because it gives it a great texture over all.
Yum! Great idea!
This recipe is SO GOOD!!! My whole family loved it! Super quick and easy (I used Jimmy Dean pork sausage and half broccoli slaw/half coleslaw. Also, coconut aminos for my soy sauce). Thank you so much for sharing!!
So happy you liked it!
This is going to be a recipe that is on our rotation now. I made it tonight and my husband ate most of it. He is on his third bowel of it. Its rare I find a recipe he likes this much. Thank you.
Very good! Didn’t think my husband would like this but he surprised me. Accidentally added sesame oil while cooking…oops. It still turned out great!
Amazing meal! My family scarfed it up on no time. So easy to prepare!
So happy to hear that!
This was amazing!! Made it with ground pork last week and ground beef today!
Yum!
Love this one as is, but today I used half broccoli slaw and half just shredded green cabbage, threw in a small bit of red onion since I didn’t have green onion/scallions, and used ginger puree instead of ground. Yummy all around!!
I’ll have to try it with broccoli slaw.
Love it as is. Made with pork. My hubby added a tad more soy and black pepper. This one is keeper. I am keto so don’t plan to add more veggies next time.
Thank you!
I used mild Italian ground sausage to add a bit of kick because I didn’t have sriracha. Yummy
Spicy turkey sausage is also great and adds a kick!
Yum!
Cant seem to find it in the recipe, do you have an estimate on the macros? New to keto and need to really keep track so i dont want to buy all the ingredients if it has too much carbs
yes. It’s at the bottom of the recipe card.
For myself, I would omit sesame oil and sriracha, add more cabbage. I used coleslaw mix and added more shredded carrots.
We all like it different. The sesame oil gives it great flavor.
I make this with a bag of organic Broccoli Slaw in addition to the cabbage slaw. I also use Bob Evans “Naturally” pork sausage. (NO MSG or any additives!)
This is Just soooo delish ! It does make a ton of filling ! Can left overs be frozen ?
So I’m a little confused, the nutrition info here says 331 cal per serving but when I put the recipe into my fitness pal to track, it comes up as 434 cal. That’s a pretty big difference. Any idea why? I’m just logging it as standard ingredients
Yes. Each brand is very different and can vary. Always look for the lowest calorie brand if that’s what you’re concerned about.
The sesame oil is. Must for flavor
This was easy and delicious — I made it exactly as the recipe above. Next time, I would double the cabbage, I am not too concerned about carbs but mostly trying to get low calorie protein. I will try ground turkey next time, too. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome!
I did this today and my oh my it was delicious!!!! I substituted the meat with ground turkey. Def need to double up the cabbage, i know for next time! But it was DELICIOUS!
So happy to hear that!!
We made this tonight and it was good, next time we might double the coleslaw mix and do shrimp instead!
Great idea!
This is one of my favorite recipes! I do however add a few large handfuls of rinsed bean sprouts to it instead extra coleslaw as most egg rolls have them in it and it is amazing!
Great twist!
I wish I would have read the comments before making this, the cabbage/coleslaw really needs doubled maybe tripled. I’ll make it again next week.
If you’re doing Keto you really don’t want all that cabbage because it increases the carbs.
Regarding keto, its not at all bad because of the net carbs. A large cabbage may contains about 72 g of carbs which 31 g is actually fiber. So essentially a large cabbage has 41 g of carbs and cooking the whole cabbage plus dividing it in appropriate portions (e.g 4), a meal would contain approx. 10 g of carbs. And that’s using the large cabbage so keep that in mind!
This is an OUTSTANDING recipe! My family devoured it like no tomorrow. Thank you for providing such a wonderful blend of flavors and combinations. Though, I did substitute a keto friendly pork sausage for the meat in mine.
Do you have the Nutrition Information to share?
It’s at the bottom of the recipe.
Can I make this without an egg? I’m out but still want to make it.
Def. Can. I didn’t add to mine and it still tasted amazing.
Yes, you definitely don’t need to add it!
It came out super salty for me unfortunately.
I am in love with this recipe! I’ve been making it regularly since I came across this page last autumn. I’ve recently made a few adjustments: I use 2 eggs and I sub sambal oelek for the sriracha. I enjoy the more intense flavor the sambal offers w/ a bit less bite. When I have fresh peppers on hand, I’ll julienne a few and saute in the hamburger grease while it’s draining.
*For a nice (non-keto) crisp, I’ll also make a few crispy “wonton” strips by thinly slicing a corn tortilla and broiling the strips for 2-4 mins. Thanks so much for sharing this family staple recipe 😊
Did you use low sodium soy sauce like the recipe says?
La la looooved it!!!
I wish I could give this a five star yelp review
😂⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏻🎉❤️
Thank you!
So wonderful! I added an extra egg. And maybe more cabbage since I am not doing keto, but I’m diabetic! I love the spice level. But, if you don’t just halve the Sriracha.
Glad you liked it!
I made this with ground chicken and doubled the cabbage. An extra teaspoon of Sriracha and it has a good amount of kick. This is a great recipe. Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Soy is not allowed on Keto. This is great with coconut animos though and keeps it keto.
Delicious, will make again! Definitely double the cabbage. I used a whole head and it really needed two. Also make sure you use low sodium soy sauce. I used regular and holy salt. Highly recommend with those changes
So easy and so good. A family staple.
Thank you!
Hi! This recipe sounds so good and looks super simple. We want to give it a try, but have cut our red meat and pork for a month. Do you think it would be good with ground turkey? Thanks!!
What is a serving, ; 1 cup? I’m counting my calories in my fitness pal don’t know how to log it in if I don’t know how much a serving is.
Yes, turkey will work!
