{KETO} Egg Roll in a Bowl
Keto Egg Roll in a Bowl is a one-pan dinner made in 15 minutes and is packed with protein and flavor. Made with either ground pork or beef, this Keto recipe tastes just like an Asian egg roll but without the egg roll wrapper.

KETO EGG ROLL IN A BOWL
As I have voiced recently, all my loved ones around me have been doing the Keto diet. I have heard, researched, and cooked all things Keto for the last couple of years. I feel like my life revolves around Keto.
In fact, I joked that any time someone says the word “Keto” around me they have to put a dollar in the swear jar.
If you don’t know what a swear jar is, you’ll probably never waited tables in college.
This Egg Roll in a Bowl is not only Keto but is also a regular dish that I make for the family whether or not they are on the Keto diet.
WHY IS THIS KETO OR LOW-CARB?
Don’t be scared if you aren’t on the Keto diet. The Keto diet is a very low-carb diet which makes this recipe perfect with a net carb of 3 grams.
WHAT IS IN EGG ROLL IN A BOWL?
Egg rolls have ground pork (or beef), cabbage, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil in them. We added some sriracha and green onions to the top for flavor.
DOES AN EGG ROLL HAVE AN EGG IN IT?
A traditional egg roll does not have egg in it but gets its name from the egg in the egg roll wrapper that wraps it all up. We add an egg at the end of cooking this Egg Roll in the Bowl because we love the flavor and extra protein it gives.
If you are doing the Keto diet, eggs are your best friend and are a great addition to this Asian Egg Roll in a Bowl.
WHAT KIND OF MEAT DO I USE?
You can use either pork or beef in this recipe. When eating Keto, it’s really important to have high quality meat that has healthy fat in it.
Grass-fed, organic meat is:
- lower in calories
- contains healthy fats and is high in omega 3s
- supports normal blood sugar levels
WHAT TO EAT WITH EGG ROLL IN A BOWL?
To be honest, usually nothing. It’s a meal all in one!

Notes
Really liked this, so easy to make. Definitely a keeper of a recipe
Looks good I want to make this send me more recipe ok
Thank you!
I substituted ground chicken for the meat and used the recipe. This was do good! Definitely going to be a regular dinner from now on!
Thank you!
I have the pickiest 3 toddlers , and all 3 have enjoyed this!!
Great recipe! My husband is skeptical of anything new so when I made this and he asked to take the leftovers for lunch I was shocked. This will definitely be added to our regular meal rotation!
awesome!
This is the best egg roll bowl recipe I have tried. Full rich flavor!
I tried this recipe tonight and it is so good. I have tried egg roll in a bowl recipes, but this one is by far the best.
We LOVE this recipe! Made often and fun to add extras depending on your tastes. We like peanuts and a few spicy things that make it so yummy! Highly recommend this favorite recipe!
Thank you!
I absolutely love this recipe. It’s quick and it’s easy and it is so incredibly flavorful. Even my kids beg me to make it… And they enjoy the extra Sriracha that I add.
Thank you!!
Can someone please tell me what the net carbs are on this? Do you subtract the fibre and sugar? Thank you!
To get net carbs, you subtract fibre from carbs. So by the nutrition label provided (fibre 3G, carbs 7g), you’d get 4 net carbs (7g-3g=4g) 🙂
This is so good, I’ve made it several times and my whole family loves it and there are never any leftovers. I usually shred up a small head of cabbage and a carrot or two instead of the bagged stuff. I always scramble an extra egg and I’m generous with the soy sauce and siracha. This is an easy weeknight meal.
I would say 7 carbs minus 3 grams of fiber is 4 net carbs
Thank you!!
I have made this multiple times; it’s a huge hit with my entire family! They love broccoli, so I typically substitute cabbage with broccoli slaw. Either way, there’s never a drop left over!
Thank you!!
Wife and I loved this, its nice easy meal for the work week
Thank you!!
Soooo good and easy!! I used garlic powder ( from Trader Joes). I did not use Sriracha. I served it over a little bit of egg noodles because my son loves noodles. I also put a little bit of wonton strips but otherwise followed the recipe as written. Very delicious….will be making this again and again!! Thank you!!
This meal is so easy to make and the flavors are amazing. Just how it’s written is exactly how ya make it. Fool proof! I double the batch and do half ground turkey and half ground pork. I top mine with green onions, sesame oil, hot sauce and wonton strips. I’ve made it 4 times so far and going to again this week 🙂
I don’t know why I waited so long to try egg roll in a bowl. This was delicious!! I could easily fix this every week.
I did sprinkle some sesame seeds on mine but it definitely did not need it lol!
Sooo good and soooo easy! We subbed ground chicken and I used h fresh ginger in addition to the powder. This is going on our meal rotation for sure. Thank you!
Delicious and quick! My husband enjoyed it with extra sirracha. This is my 10 yo’s favorite “diet” meal lol. I used about a teaspoon fresh ginger minced and 1 tablespoon garlic. Thank you.
This was so tasty and super easy to make for a weeknight supper. I’m adding this to our normal rotation.
Thank you!!
Being on Keto is not for me, but this recipe is amazing❣️
Thank you!!
Have made this 3 times now with either ground pork or ground turkey & it never disappoints! Have started doing them for weekly lunch meal preps!! Great recipe.
Thank you!!
Really yummy but not a real keto solution because it begs for some crumbles or some rice
Maybe add nuts?
And if youre not on keto you want more of a fresh veggie taste so maybe cook cabbage separately and add the egg roll on top and double cabbage or halve meat
My kids ask for this a lot!!!!! It’s a great way to make sure they’re getting their veg and it’s so tasty! Sriracha and chili garlic paste are always on the side so everyone can spice it up how they want! I never comment on this stuff but I wanted you to know this is a keeper at my house!
Well I’m glad you commented!
I must have done something wrong. It didn’t taste too good. How did the scrambled egg turn out? Mine was a mess. I ended up scooping it out.
Just keep cooking until scrambled.
Great version of egg roll in a bowl. Note I made with spicy bulk sausage- added even more spice!
Can this be frozen for later use?
Sure!
Way too salty. I would cut the amount of soy sauce in half.
Recipe was easy to follow and easy to make.
Will try it again, reducing the amount of soy sauce.
Did you use low-sodium soy sauce like the recipe says?
Made tonight and I would agree it’s super salty. I only buy low sodium products and yet this was over the top salt flavor. I do think people’s levels of what is salty is very different. Definitely a meal I would make again but trying it with 1/2 of what is currently listed in the recipe for soy sauce if you are salt sensitive and add water if needed to steam more! Watch out how much sesame oil also can add a salty taste if to much. A little of that goes a lonnnnng way.
I happened upon this recipe one evening when looking for something different for dinner…I made it and my husband loved it…it is one of our favorites!!
My family loves this recipe and it’s so easy! Love it!!!
So glad you liked it!
I love this recipe! It is SO easy and fast! I use Liquid Aminos (tried soy sauce the first time I made it and it was waaayyyyy too salty!) and add wonton strips at the end. I know that makes it non-keto, but it’s yummy! Thank you for the recipe!
I tried this recipe and I used ground chicken instead of ground pig or cow and it was most delicious. Thank you for your recipe share.
Thank you!
I just made this for lunch for me and my kids and we all loved it! Definitely going on the meal rotation at our house!
Thank you!
Just made this for dinner tonight. How do you suggest prepping leftovers (reheated or served cold?) Do you microwave it to reheat it?
I just microwave it
This was delicious! But serves 4? No way, my husband had 3 helpings! Love that it has a little spice to it.
Very good recipe! Has a great flavor and just enough heat. Thanks for a winner in my book.
Thank you!
We LOVE this recipe! So much so we had it two times this week. It’s so easy, affordable and tasty!!! The only change we make is adding an extra egg and everything bagel seasoning. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
So so good. This will now be a weekly favourite. I used half pork and half beef mince. Used regular soy. Didn’t add siracha. Instead we added fresh chopped chilies on our own bowls. Delicious!!
Thank you!
Oh. My. Goodness. AMAZING! Doubled the recipe because my nephew devours leftovers. The only tweak I made was doing half ground pork and half chopped shrimp. Healthy, delicious and magically tasted even better the second day. Definitely adding this to my rotation. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome!
You don’t have the egg listed in the ingredients.
I see it
It’s there
Love this! My family asks for it all the time. You know its a good one when it makes the rotation! Thank you!
Thank you!
Seriously yummy.
Thank you!
Chinese 5 spice adds a little boost for me since I don’t like sriracha but thanks for the wonderful recipe!
This is a favorite recipe! I make it all the time!
Thank you!
I have made lots of different recipes for egg roll in a bowl. This is the best one. It is simple and the idea of scrambling the egg in it is genius. Usually I soft boil a few, but this was much easier.
Aww thank you
I made this last night for supper. I am new to the whole low-carb/keto thing. I really enjoyed this recipe. It is easy to make, and extremely tasty. I added two eggs based on the comments, and I think that was a good choice. I will likely add some more fat to it next time, maybe some coconut oil or grape seed oil since I have both, to get the fat macro higher. I entered the recipe in MyFitnessPal and it came out, with locally available ingredients came to 340 Calories, 9g Carbs (3g of which are fiber), 29g Protein, and 21g Fat. It tastes wonderful, and I can see eating this regularly
Good luck!
Quck, easy and delicious! I left the Sriracha out in the making. It was amazing to add what I wanted after.
Thanks!
What heat is the burner supposed to be on??
Medium high
Hello, I love this recipe! I would like to know if it freezes well?
I haven’t tried it but many have frozen it with success.
Have you tried to freeze this? I was wondering if it would defrost ok.
Others have frozen it and it worked. I personally have not tried it
I make this ALL of the time. I use hot sausage, onions and 2 eggs. I sprinkle everything bagel seasoning on it in the bowl.
Yum!
Made this countless times. I usually use ground turkey with it, two eggs, and always serve over/mixed in with brown rice. Made it again last night with ground chicken finally, and added some water chestnuts as some other reviewers mentioned. Love how versatile this recipe is!
Thank you!
On of our staples. We enjoy this recipe a couple times a month.
Thank you!
This was so good and so easy. I actually used two eggs. We made this two nights ago and I am already craving it again.
Thank you!
Fast and easy. I love it!
Thank you!
Ran across this recipe a couple of months ago. Thought I’d better leave you a review since I’ve made it every week since! We LOVE it. Quick easy meal that even my cabbage haters will eat.
Thank you!
Amazing! I had spicy jimmy deans breakfast sausage on hand so I used that… chefs kiss!
Thank you!
I’ve saved this recipe in Pinterest. Make it at least 2x a month!
Thanks!
Leslie
Don’t forget the sweet and sour
Made this today with Chinese cabbage and greens from garden. So very good. I did add a bit of oyster sauce and cayenne pepper.
Thank you!
Made this a few nights ago and we couldn’t get enough! Easy to make and a crowd pleaser. Under Nutritional Information, sodium per serving is listed at 118mg. Seems low considering soy sauce as an ingredient.
I was going to comment on the same thing then I looked again and I read it wrong, just like you.☺️
Thank you!
Love it and so does my family and friends!
We do, too!!
Fantastic recipe. I added two eggs instead of one, and instead of Sriracha I just added some cayenne and red pepper flakes. So good.
Has anyone tryed with no meat.
I have made it with a plant based substitute. Delicious.
Made this tonight. Put over toasted brown butter basmati. Easy and so good!
My family loves this, used fresh ginger and ground turkey. Delicious!
YUM! All I had on hand was ground turkey, and it was delicious. I added a can of chopped water chestnuts and oyster sauce. Love this recipe!
YUM! Amazing recipe. All I had on hand was ground turkey but it turned out so great. I add a can of diced water chestnuts and oyster sauce. Love this recipe!
Recipe was bomb. I didn’t even add the egg. Putting this in rotation for sure! Thank you
Hello, I’m going to try this today but I don’t have sesame oil. Can I substitute with a different oil? If so what one? I aleays have avocado oil and extra virgin olive oil. I’m new to the keto diet but these recipes look and sound delicious! Thank you in advance.
The sesame oil at the end just makes it pop.. I wouldn’t use any other oil. It’s for the flavor.
Thank you. I appreciate your response.
My wife absolutely loves this. Here is one suggestion though, take the zero carb street taco shells, roll them out, fill with egg roll in a bowl mixture, secure with toothpicks, and fry or bake.
It’s just for flavor so just omit oil if you don’t have it
OMG, this is so good. I can’t wait for dinner, lol. I need more sesame oil because I ran out. I will make this many times. Thanks!!
This was a very filling and yummy meal! I definitely think it was too salty so if anything next time I’ll be using half the amino acids!
YUM. Here are my tweaks:
1) use half ground turkey, half ground pork
2) use a bag of prepped, shredded coleslaw
3) add a can of chopped water chestnuts for crunch and hoisin sauce for extra flavor
4) fresh ginger instead of powdered
I made with half turkey and half pork. I used a bag of shredded cole slow mix. I also added a can of cubed water chestnuts and hoisin sauce. YUM.
This recipe was the bomb! Easy to make nutritious, delicious and cost was reasonable. Will make it again maybe with shrimp. Initially used ground turkey and again it was excellent.
Thank you!
We LOVE this dish! For my portions I add in cooked radish greens for liver function.
Thank you!
One of my favorite meals ever! Even better that is keto/low carb!
Thank you!
I madeit almost exactly- I had no siracha- so that was left out- but everything else was spot on a and a HUGE hit! Thank you!
Thank you!
I found this version to be VERY SALTY, but with a TON of flavor as I used fresh grated ginger instead of ground. I would make this again with low sodium soy of some sort. I am curious as I see are others as to the serving size and what that is exactly? 1 gram?? Seems a little off.
It’s 1/4 of the bowl. The recipe does call for low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos
How can one serving of egg roll in a bowl= one gram? Is that like one teaspoon?
“serving: 1g, calories: 327kcal, carbohydrates: 7g, protein: 25g, fat: 22g, saturated fat: 8g, polyunsaturated fat: 2g, monounsaturated fat: 9g, trans fat: 1g, cholesterol: 118mg, sodium: 735mg, potassium: 587mg, fiber: 3g, sugar: 3g, vitamin a: 160iu, vitamin c: 38mg, calcium: 70mg, iron: 3mg”
It’s for one serving not one gram
This was delicious!! The only thing I substituted was fresh grated ginger instead of the powder. Phenomenal. Great recipe and thank you so much.
Thank you!
